The Great Conjunction of 2000

The conjunctions of Saturn and Jupiter happen approximately once in twenty years in series of several conjunctions in the signs of the same triplicity. Sometimes there can occur a conjunction in a sign of the next triplicity anticipating next series. Such was the last conjunction in 1981 in Libra that took place in the earthy series and have anticipated the airy series starting in 2020. The conjunction in the airy sign put forward ideas of equality, brotherhood, association and integration, the ideology of cosmopolitism became prevailing, national borders began to wash out, integration of Europe started, the general currency appeared. The scientific and information boom is connected to Air, the general information space appeared, the rapid development of computer engineering and communication facilities, Internet began to flourish.
The forthcoming conjunction in Taurus probably will return us for the next 20 years to the priority of national interests and values, the processes of association and integration will be slowed down: the crisis in European integration policy and hard times for euro are probable. Information wars may be renewed, most likely the alien information will be filtered or just blocked. There may be a crisis, or at least a perceptible recession in the development of information engineering, a delay in development of new computer technologies and computer networks. The economic priorities will change, that may result in appreciable economic shocks. There will come bad times for the high-tech companies that are overpriced now, and Taurus does not like a hype. Moreover, the ruining of the stock exchange pirates and speculators is expected that certainly will not pass imperceptibly for the world economy. The owners of the real estate, natural resources and material assets will be in the best state.
The last conjunction was threefold (planet joined three times) that emphasizes its special importance. Usually such threefold conjunctions mark the periods of radical and epoch-making changes in the world order. The previous threefold conjunction took place at the beginning of 1941 (as well as the forthcoming it was in Taurus), then the attack of Germany on the USSR followed and only the entry of the USSR into the military operations resulted in the defeat of Germany and establishment of the new order in the world. Since then practically all the global policy has been determined by the opposition of the two empires - the USSR and the USA. The threefold conjunction of 1981 resulted in the destruction of the former order and the announcment of the new one, the Airy one, not based on an opposition of any empires, but being multipolar or based on equal-in-rights association. Western Europe began to feel freedom from USA and tried to talk to America on equal. In 1982 Western Germany made a deal with the USSR for gas despite the USA objection that was impossible in the 60-ths or 70-ths. The like took place in East Europe in relation to USSR. The forthcoming conjunction probably will return for some time the imperial style, but only the USA have the necessary resources and ambitions for that, therefore just this country will try to subordinate the whole world. The European countries will be clearly shown that the USA are their unique defence counsel, supporter and benefactor, whom they should be grateful up to the end of times; other countries will become US protectorates (because the American order is the best, isn't it?). Will these American sweet dreams be accomplished? I don't think so. The attempts of the USA are doomed to fail in the nearest 20 years, and after 2020 there will be no more any attempts.
The forthcoming conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter will take place in 23-rd degree of Taurus, in the terms and face of Saturn. This face is traditionally connected with "misery, servitude, poverty, necessity and cruelty", that may be counted as one more testimony of an adverse economic situation and propensity to severe decisions. Besides this conjunction will be near to a star named Caput Algol that is worse.

The chart of conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn for Washington, the capital of the USA is very interesting. In this chart the conjunction is placed right in Medium Coeli, such situation was especially emphasized in ancient books: "… it denotes the arise of some new King or Prophet from the quarter signified by the sign wherein they are joined, and if the Sign or Lord thereof be fortunate, it denotes their continuance, establishment and glory; but if it be weak or afflicted, and its Lord, they shall be slain and put down;" (William Ramesey 'Astrologia Restaurata', 1653). And I think that not only in "quater signifed by the sign", but in that country too and it is first of all. It is possible that "from the quarter ..." denotes "from that part of that country ...", then it may be a President from the South (because Taurus signifies south). In this chart the dispositor of conjunction or its lord is Venus. She is in the tenth house, direct and swift in motion that is good; but she is peregrine, oriental and, as would tell Robert Hand, ex conditione that is bad. But worst of all is that she is combusted, and she is faster than the Sun and is moving to the conjunction with him, which is the worst case of combustion. Therefore she cannot be named "fortunate", but rather "weak and afflicted". In general, the presence of many planets in the tenth house will make the problems of State power and government very important for the USA .
Leo ascending and the star Cor Leonis on the ascendant speaks about a regal state of the country, but it does not guarantee the future happiness. In the previous conjunction this star was on the ascendant for the USSR, that did not save the country from disorder, loss of power and fall from the international Olympus. The almuten of the first house, the Sun is well located in the tenth house and speaks about pride of the population in the country and in itself, and certainly about a high state of the country. But besides, the Sun is the almuten of the twelfth house, that means the presence and augmenting of secret enemies who are powerful enough and not of a low state, too. Besides the Sun is peregrine, meaning that he does not have enough power to give this country the blessing.
The power of the USA in many respects is based on powerful and prospering economy. The almuten of the second house, the Mercury placed in tenth, swift in motion, direct, free from combustion, occidental and in his own domicile is very strong and signifies a perfect financial state, but he will soon change the sign and house, that indicates a change of the situation and the change is for the worse (in the beginning of a Cancer he is peregrine). The country is on the top of its economic power and appreciable progress hardly be expected.
The Moon in the eighth house usually denotes reduction of the population and increased mortality. In the charts of annual revolutions of the world for Russia of the last ten years the Moon either got in eighth, or was afflicted by a planet from eighth or by a ruler of the eighth and there was bad demographic situation: mortality exceeds birth rate, reduction of the population. But in this chart the almuten of the first house is not so bad, the Moon is in partil sextile to the Venus (though the latter is weak) and then goes to sextile to the Sun, therefore the great murrain is hardly be expected.
Therefore the most unpleasant testimony is conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter on the cusp of the tenth house and the weak and afflicted Venus (being the dispositor of this conjunction). Besides in this chart Jupiter is the almuten of the eighth, that makes him malevolent planet rather then fortunate one. Therefore the next twenty years will be a very bad period for State authorities of the USA, there is a threat of an overthrow of the governor, or even of the President's violent death.
