Algol Under Santa Barbara

by on May.09, 2009, under Algol, Traditional Astrology

SoCal Wildfire Mother Nature has once again, unleashed her furry, on the state of California. This time, her fiery winds are ravishing the elegant hill country of Santa Barbara.  Once again, David Crook of http://stellarinsights108.blogspot.com  has zeroed in on the reason why.  Staring indignantly at us from the Spring Equinox Chart set for Santa Barbara, there is the ever famous, binary eclipsing fixed star, that we had just been discussing with regards to Iraq, the dreaded Algol situated right at the 4th house.

Huh?? 4th house? What say you???

For those not yet fluent in our celestial tongue, the  astrological chart is divided into 12 sections, each, representing an important function in our lives. The 4th house, is terra firma, the solid earth, and is of course,  the ground we walk on.  The 4th house is one of the most overlooked, andyet most important of all the sectors of our life, because it is the place we are free to just be you and me.  It is where we can throw off our shoes and kick our feet up on the table, spill a little coffee, no problem, for the 4th is the place of utter comfort. Home Sweet Home.  Lilly sayeth that the 4th has to do with ‘the ground we walk on.’ There is much aspiration in this world, but we live on earth. Whatever rules or is placed in or at the cusp of this house will describe conditions on the ground. If my client wanted to purchase real estate, I would look to the 4th to see if it had a good foundation or a leaky roof.

To find out the ‘fate of a state,’ in this case, California, astrologers look to the Spring Ingress Chart. Just as David was quick to notice that Algol was situated at the all important first house, set for Baghdad, he wasted no time zeroing in on Algol smack dab at the base of the Spring chart set for Santa Barbara.  As we said last week, Algol brings horror wherever it lands. We can see what type of horror depends upon condition of Venus, the ruler of the 26th degree of Taurus. Not surprisingly, Venus is in the fiery Aries. Looking further, it appears that the people never saw it coming. This is because the Moon, who is the other designated representative of the citizenry on the ground, is in the denial producing, 12th house. For some reason, this house is always involved in sneak attacks, and stalker incidents. It reminds me of the place just behind us, a foot behind our skull, and the place we never pay attention to, until it is too late. Thus, when we see the Moon in the 12th, we see where we are our own worse enemies. Anybody who has been up in the hills of Santa Barbara can attest to the arid conditions, year round. We have to ask, was this beautiful and now oh so elegant mountain really meant to be inhabited?

Could we have seen this in hindsight? We would draw the chart set for the capital of California, Sacramento. The first thing we do when we look at any mundane map is to look at the people, because if the people are happy, and well situated, then there will be peace and abundance in the state or the country.

Looking at the Spring Equinox, using Regiomontanus House Cusps, we immediately see the people are ruled by grim reaper of the planets, Saturn.  This is not a good start. Saturn is in charge of depression, want and weakness, but even worse, our symbolic ruler is at the cusp of the house of death. We can see timing of the fiery maelstrom. Notice 8th cusp holds 15 Virgo. Notice, when Saturn’s tiptoed slowly backwards, readying to station on to that degree, the hills of California burst into flames. This is a serious wake up for Californians to have their emergency plans and packages in place. 2009 could be a very rough year.

Although the fire is now 30 percent contained and the mandatory evacuation orders are being lifted, according to the AP:

“Most Santa Barbara fire evacuations being lifted By RAQUEL MARIA DILLON – 1 hour ago

“SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) – Authorities in California’s Santa Barbara County say a dramatic change in weather means most evacuees from the area of a major wildfire will be allowed to return home… It had burned across more than 13 square miles. <more>

With Mercury retrograde, there may be flare ups for some time to come up, and with Saturn retrograde in the 8th of the Spring Chart, Californians beware.  Have emergency plans and packages in place. With Ruler of the first retrograde at the 8th, fire in California, unlike lightning, can strike twice.

    I HAVE A
    “PANTAGRMA STAR”
    And
    “STAR OF DAVID”
    In my natal chart…

May I ask a question please?

If I my ASC is an: Earth element
And my MC is a: Air element
And my Descendant is a: Water element
And my IC is a: Fire element

And all these planets form a “PANTAGRMA STAR”, would this mean a high ability for transformation?

The sun 29 degrees in sag, fourth house?

Placing the moon’s nodes in the chart, with Chiron, creates a STAR OF DAVID.

Neptune, sextile Pluto is on my birth chart as well.
This is really confusing me as ,I have never seen this before, and is extremely rare!

Although I have rare talents and abilities never before heard of, I can still use you’re help.

As I know many things about astrology, I would like some feedback, before I rule my calling in this world.

    Thank You So, much!

Hello dear Dorothy and fellows astrologers,
i was reading “Algol under Santa Barbara” and remembering some
passages about astrologers of the past,as Abu Mashar ,quoting Jupiter-Saturn
conjunction aspecting ingress solar chart as a sign of natural or political
    disturbance,earthquakes also.
Last Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of 2000 in Taurus, falls at house 4 near cusp in
this chart.I was wondering about the last full moon of May,9,aspecting, hiting
this point of the conjunction and some relation with the last earthquake in
California, days ago.Let’s wait for the next Lunar eclipse, near the
point of the Moon in the solar ingress chart,on 7 July.
Mars transit will be in square with Jupiter, therefore both in square with
Jupiter-Saturn conjunction point.A time of political disturbance to come or new
    fire or natural events?
    All the best
    Gerson
