Welcome to September, still Summer but not for long. It’s Labor Day in the US, the holiday that signals the last great fling of summer before vacation season closes and school starts.

Mon Sept 1 the Moon is in Sagittarius most of the day. Write big, and write to be read. Use your big voice. And edit something to perfection, no matter how small a piece. These are our last hours of Mercury in Virgo. Late tonight, Mercury changes signs and enters Libra. Have peaceful dreams.

Wed Sept 3 the Moon is void of course in Sagittarius when the Sun trines Pluto. Continue working big. You don’t have to finish it all in one sitting. It might be the work of a lifetime. Big.

Thu Sept 4 the Moon conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn. Thursday is Jupiter’s day of the week. The big theme continues. Keep control, though, and don’t get anxious or nervous about how anything is going to turn out.

Fri Sept 5 the Moon is void of course in Capricorn when Venus changes signs and enters Virgo. Now this can remove a few distractions (mostly social ones). Be productive, then shift gears for the weekend.

Mon Sept 8 the Moon conjuncts Neptune in Pisces in the early morning. This can inspire you, now or later today. In the evening we have the Full Moon at 16 Pis. Do those scenes of romantic encounters and emotional confessions. Be extra sensitive for a month. Four hours later, the Moon trines Saturn. This can keep you grounded in a gentle way, so you don’t float off on that lunar Piscean cloud.

Wed Sept 10 the Moon is in Aries all day. Make progress on your own stuff. In the early morning, Venus opposes Neptune. You may not like how you feel, and isn’t that why some of us write? Midafternoon, the Moon opposes Mercury. If you don’t like what you write, give it a rest and look at it again later. That evening, the Moon occults Uranus. You only think that it’s been a day of no surprises.

Sat Sept 13 the Moon is in Taurus when Mercury opposes Uranus. Crazy schemes and weird plots won’t be very appealing (but that will change). In the afternoon, the Moon is void of course when Mars changes signs and enters Sagittarius. Even though Mars rules Scorpio, Mars is happy in a fire sign. Keep that forward momentum going! Half an hour before midnight and the day ends (PDT), the Moon enters Gemini. Got that dream journal by your bed? Less than half an hour later, the Moon opposes Mars. If it’s hard to sleep, read something with a lot of big words in it.

Sun Sept 14 the Moon is in Gemini all day. Do those weekend Gemini things, socialize, see and do new fun stuff, talk, listen, all that. In the morning, Venus trines Pluto. This could give you some spicy ideas and opportunities for fun. Remember, in the end it’s all research.

Mon Sept 15 the Moon is still in Gemini, going void of course in the evening. We still have till tomorrow morning to use Gemini to its fullest. Take any pictures yesterday? Take any notes? Sure you did. Now write those first impressions. Organize later.

Wed Sept 17 the Moon is in Cancer all day. We are getting a month of Wednesdays with the Moon in cardinal signs. Start something, work on something else, finish something and make room in the queue to start the next thing. Enjoy working at home, at least part of the day.

Sat Sept 20 the Moon conjuncts Jupiter in Leo. Have a glorious weekend evening. You know, we’re going to be seeing the Moon conjunct Jupiter in Leo from now till August 2015. Be brilliant with this.

Sun Sept 21 the Moon is in Virgo when Mars squares Neptune. If writing fantasy, consider that often magic has unforeseen consequences. It’s also the last day of the year for the Sun to be in sign of Virgo. Tomorrow the world may be considerably more complicated and sophisticated if not more pleasant.

Mon Sept 22 the Moon spends the day in Virgo. Use this last shot of Virgo energy to its fullest. Make that one line of prose or poetry exactly and surprisingly right. Or, you could reorganize your sock drawer. The Moon trines Pluto in the early morning, letting us see things from a radically different perspective. That evening the Sun changes signs, leaves Virgo and becomes a guest in the house of Venus as it enters Libra. It’s the autumnal equinox, when day and night are equally twelve hours long for every place on earth. The Sun rises due east and it sets due west. It’s also the day before the New Moon. Think balance, compromise, consideration, and caution. Heads Up.

Tue Sept 23 a very dark Moon conjuncts Venus and then goes void of course for about ten hours. Most of today the Moon is very dark, so act and speak with extra care. Forty-six minutes before end of day midnight (PDT), we have the New Moon at 01 Lib. Heads Up in a positive way for calm constructive dreams.

Wed Sept 24 the Moon is in Libra all day. People may present some distractions, but view them as short breaks (and try to keep them short). You can get a lot done today.

Thu Sept 25 the Moon is still in Libra all day. The Moon sextiles Jupiter in the very early morning. Take a pleasant generous dream into the day. Nine minutes later, the Moon opposes Uranus. Not all radical innovations need to be huge. In the early afternoon, Jupiter trines Uranus. Work on a part of something big that surprises yourself with its depth of vision.

Fri Sept 26 the Moon conjuncts Mercury in Libra and then goes void of course, entering Scorpio a couple of hours later. If a character is in a tough spot, wits can save him. If not, maybe he’ll resort to still more hard-nosed wits. Keep it fictional.

Sat Sept 27 the Moon is in Scorpio all day. In the late afternoon, Mercury changes signs and enters Scorpio. That’s the end of the Libra apparent niceness. For writing purposes, consider that Scorpio prefers covert to overt expressions of anger. The fist may still be there, but inside a velvet glove. Now that has steam punk possibilities. Six hours later the Moon occults Saturn. It is the weekend, but some of it can still be serious. So, what are you reading?

Mon Sept 29 the Moon is in Sagittarius all day. We started the month with this. Are you still thinking big? The Moon conjuncts Mars in the early afternoon. If you needed energy, this is the equivalent of at least a couple of cups of coffee. About two hours later Venus changes signs and moves into her nocturnal home of Libra. A little more creature comfort and more beauty (with or with ruffles) may be desired. Later that evening, the Moon trines Uranus. Look at something with fresh eyes and be amazed. Not quite two hours later, the Moon trines Jupiter. Now you can amaze others.

Now that’s an artistic high note on which to end the month! Though the equinox doesn’t happen until three-fourths of the way through September, it has still be a month of balance. Balance the big with the small, the shouted with the understated, you get the idea. Not only is there room for both extremes, there will be times when one or the other will be positively required.

Converse, network, read, write, submit, repeat. Now where did I put that big book I’m reading?

Have a fantastic, creative, productive, and well-received month! Oh, and lucrative, too! Heads Up!
